Caution G487617805 1280 300x200

Please ensure that you are only teaching age groups and competencies that you have gained and currently hold (accreditations must be up to date and current/renewed) accreditation to instruct. For example, if you hold a Swim AustraliaTM Teacher qualification, this provides you with the competency and knowledge to teach swimming and water safety to independent learners from the age of 2 ½ upwards. If you are teaching groups below this age bracket, for example, babies you are required to hold the Swim AustraliaTM Teacher of Babies & Toddlers qualification. Without the correct qualifications, you are likely to be compromising your insurance coverage.

Effectively, your insurance provider will only cover you for the incidents that are related to the teaching that you provide which are supported by the qualifications and/or accreditations that you currently hold.

In the event of an insurable incident or claim, your insurance provider will ask if the Swim Teacher (and/or Coach) is currently accredited and qualified to perform the duties offered to their students. (this is the first question that is always asked)
