Our First Aid course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

Our first Aid course issues the following units of competency:

HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Prerequisites

You must provide your Unique Student Identifier (USI) number at the time of enrolment. A USI  is your individual education number and is required if you are undertaking nationally recognised training. Entry Requirements

Basic numeracy and literacy are required.

For the online theory component, you must have access to a computer, smartphone or electronic device with access to the internet to complete these studies.

You must have the physical capacity to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.

Delivery Method

Online theory modules and a face-to-face workshop.

Course Duration

The face-to-face workshop will take 4 hours. The online theory component will depend on the individual’s previous skills, knowledge, and experience.

Certification

Upon completion of the course, and once assessed as fully competent you will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and Certificate. This certification is valid for 3 years and the CPR component of the course must be renewed annually. To be eligible for competency upon completion of a Provide First Aid course, students must be over 14 years of age.
