  • Must provide their valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) number at the time of enrolment for verification by SWIM Australia. A USI is a reference number required by the Commonwealth statutory office (Student Identifiers Act 2014) and is obtained from the USI Registrar.   • Adequate physical fitness and good health 
  • Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies. 
  • Minimum age: 14 years 




This interactive course is delivered in a blended format with online theory and practical components.  

  1. Pre-Course theory component – Students are required to undertake online pre-course work prior to attending the face-to-face session. 
  1. Practical Workshop  
  • Simulated First Aid Scenario – Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position) 
  • Complete a first aid incident report form based on the simulated first aid scenario 
  • Perform CPR on an infant 
  • Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis 
  • Manage a casualty with asthma 
  • Manage a choking casualty 
  • Manage a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock, requiring minor wound cleaning 
  • Manage a casualty with a nosebleed 
  • Manage a casualty with a fracture and dislocation 
  • Manage a casualty with a sprain and strain 
  • Manage a casualty with envenomation (snake/ funnel-web spider bite) 



  • Online Theory component – approx. 2 hours 
  • Practical Workshop and assessment – 4 hours 




Candidates have three (3) months from purchasing date to complete their training.  



Upon completion of the course, and once assessed as fully competent you will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and Certificate. This certification is valid for 3 years and the CPR component of the course must be renewed annually. To be eligible for competency upon completion of a Provide First Aid course, students must be over 14 years of age.

To ensure you’re fully prepared, we recommend you plan ahead and set aside at least two (2) weeks from your preferred date to finish the theory component of the course. If you haven’t completed all the required theory components, you won’t be able to attend the hands-on workshop, and you may be allocated to a future date. Please consult your Trainer if you face any challenges when completing the theory modules.
