SWIM PD WEBINAR: Courtney Kline – Bridging the Gap between the Pool and Open Water

We are proud to introduce you to Learn to Swim specialist Courtney Kline. Based in the USA, Courtney has taken extensive experience in technical swim coaching, learn to swim and aquatic therapy combining it with a scientific approach to attack drowning statistics and water safety. She does this at her Research and Training facility in Evergreen Colorado.

Focusing on open water scenarios, intentional applications of swim skills and experiential learning she has witnessed neural pathways develop that trigger lifesaving responses from toddler to adult.

In the U.S.74% of Drownings over the age of five happen in Open Water. Courtney plans to deliver in her presentation the science behind ‘Bridging the Gap Between the Pool and Open Water‘, and ‘new and innovative learn to swim methodologies‘. She will also dive into:

  • How personal experiences impact the Transfer of Trust to water;
  • Real world training techniques that apply traditional swim skills to open water environments;
  • The future of Swim4Life’s research and development in the open water swim industry.

Courtney is involved with the National Drowning Prevention, United States Swim School Association, World Open Water Swimming Association, ASCA, American Association of Aquatic Professionals as an advocate and speaker.
